Generative AI for Mental Health Research Accelerator program
Overview
BRIDGE AI is a pilot study that aims to strengthen the supervision of non-specialist counsellors delivering the Healthy Activity Program (HAP) by adapting an artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled therapy quality assessment tool for the Indian context.
The project is evaluating the feasibility, acceptability and cultural appropriateness of AI-assisted supervision to improve therapy quality and expand access to high-quality depression care.
Rationale
The treatment gap for depression is addressed by 'task-sharing' models, however, such models also face challenges on where there is a lack of supervision. The human resource that is required for supervising the non-specialist provided therapy is human resource and time intensive.

Adapt CARE, an AI-tool developed by Stanford to assess the therapy quality, to Indian settings utilising the data from OptimizeD study.
Understand the feasibility, acceptability and the cultural appropriateness of the tool.
