Initiative for Health Equity, Advocacy & Research- iHEAR

Sangath’s commitment to Health Equity grew from the stark inequities exposed during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly those faced by activists from trans and disability communities.

Through iHEAR- Initiative for Health Equity, Advocacy, and Research, we collaborate with partner organisations and community members with lived experiences, using participatory approaches that put voices from the margins at the centre.

iHEAR works at the intersections of healthcare, vaccine access, medical education, and mental health—partnering with LGBTQIA+ and disability communities. By blending research with humanities, art, and innovation, we strive to reimagine systems of care that are inclusive, equitable, and just.
