MHTAI – AI Enhanced Interactive Training Module for Developing Counselling Skills in Emerging Mental Health Professionals
Grant Awardee: Shreyal Saxena
MHTAI aimed to develop an AI-enhanced interactive training tool to support counselling skills development among emerging mental health professionals. The project successfully developed a functional AI-based prototype and conducted pilot testing to assess its usability, engagement, and feasibility as an interactive mental health training tool.

Project Highlights:
Developed and pilot-tested a functional AI-based training prototype with 15 participants.
Provided participants with an AI-assisted interactive learning experience focused on mental health training and counselling skills.
Demonstrated the feasibility and potential of AI-based tools to support interactive learning and skill development in mental health contexts.
Designed and implemented a pilot testing framework to generate preliminary evidence on usability and feasibility.
Built institutional and technical experience in AI model development, training, and deployment.
Generated learnings to inform improvements in AI accuracy, responsiveness, system stability, and accessibility.
A funding application was submitted to The Agency Fund to support further development and scale-up of the prototype.
Established a foundation for integrating AI-based learning tools into structured mental health training programmes.
