Capacity building for Mental health Promotion among University Students (CAMPUS)
Grant Awardee: Kriti Sinha
CAMPUS is a co-designed capacity-building initiative developed in collaboration with Youth for Mental Health Foundation (YMHF) to equip university students with the knowledge and interpersonal skills needed to promote mental health and address stigma on their campuses. The project involved a review of existing mental health training resources, co-design workshops with university students, development of a structured training programme and handbook, and implementation of the training with four coh orts of student volunteers.

Project Highlights:
Identified three key areas for the programme by reviewing existing literature- mental health literacy, interpersonal skills, and access to self-help and mental health services- and trained approximately 29 university students across four cohorts
Conducted two co-design workshops with university students to develop and refine the training structure, content, teaching methods, and participant resources.
Developed a structured two-day CAMPUS training programme and handbook, covering topics on mental health awareness, literacy and interpersonal skills.
Evaluate changes in participants’ knowledge and confidence through pre- and post-training assessments.
Participant feedback highlighted increased confidence, public-speaking skills, practical understanding of mental health, and ability to conduct mental health awareness activities.
Created a foundation for scaling the CAMPUS programme to reach a larger number of university students and strengthen student-led mental health promotion across campuses.
