C.A.R.E.: Creating Awareness and Resources for Education for Caregivers of Children with NDDs – A Video Series
Grant Awardees: Anushree Pednekar & S. Varuni
C.A.R.E. was developed to create accessible, culturally relevant digital resources for caregivers of children with neurodevelopmental disorders and disabilities (NDDs). The project developed a series of animated educational videos on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Intellectual Disability (ID), available in English, Hindi, and Marathi. The videos use simple language and engaging visual content to improve caregivers’ understanding of NDDs and promote awareness, early identification, and informed support.

Project Highlights:
Developed nine educational videos covering ASD, ADHD, and Intellectual Disability in English, Hindi, and Marathi.
Disseminated the videos through Sangath’s Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, and WhatsApp as part of World Autism Awareness Month.
Reached caregivers through in-person screenings, including 59 caregivers and NAMASTE team members in Delhi and approximately 100 caregivers and IMA members in Bicholim, Goa.
The videos were appreciated for their accessible, culturally relevant, and non-deficit-based approach to neurodevelopmental disabilities.
Featured in the NAMASTE World Autism Awareness Month newsletter, with further dissemination planned through the NAMASTE website.
Created a low-cost, scalable digital resource with potential for wider dissemination and future expansion to additional NDD-related topics.
Established a foundation for future work focused on caregiver education, neurodiversity, and community-based awareness.
