1. Intervention Coordinator POWERTXT project, Sangath, Goa, India

About this post

Sangath is seeking to hire an Intervention Coordinator for its POWERTXT project.  The project will be implemented in Goa under the auspices of Sangath. The post-holder will work closely with the Fellow and have overall responsibility for the clinical component of the programme. The post is based in Goa and is for a starting appointment for one year, extendable by a further four years, starting from 1st April, 2017 or as soon as possible after this date.

 Job Responsibilities

  • To design a brief psychological treatment that can be delivered using simple mobile phone messaging.
  • To design a treatment manual which describes the core strategies/elements making up the brief intervention, the logic model for selecting these, and how these will be delivered via SMS/voice in terms of sequencing.
  • Gain experience in the implementation of the treatment with a small number of eligible adolescents with drinking problems in order to inform the content of the treatment and delivery procedures.
  • Work closely with the technology company and manage the phone messaging platform.

Person-specification

Essential 

  • Clinical qualification in mental health (MSc/MPhil/MA Clinical or Counselling Psychology or Clinical Social Work or Psychiatry)
  • Good writing skills in order to be able to design treatment manuals in plain English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • High level of computer skills
  • Fluency in written in English
  • Commitment of a minimum of three years

Desirable

  • Experience in psychological therapy/developing treatment manuals
  • Fluency in Hindi, Konkani or Marathi
  • Experience in mental health research
  • Experience of working in schools or with adolescents
  • Experience of working with mHealth technologies

2. Project Administrator POWERTXT project, Sangath, Goa, India

 

About this post

Sangath is seeking to hire a Project Administrator for its POWERTXT project.  The project will be implemented in Goa under the auspices of Sangath. The post-holder will work closely with the Fellow and have overall responsibility for the administrative component of the programme. The post is based in Goa and is for a starting appointment for one year, extendable by a further four years, starting from 1stApril, 2017 or as soon as possible after this date.

 

Job Profile

  • Overall responsibility for the day to day administration of the project.
  • Financial management for the project including reporting.
  • Responsible for obtaining approvals for various expenses, and preparing contracts for service providers (internal and external).
  • Ensuring the functionality of equipment.
  • Organizing project based events, meetings and seminars.
  • Taking minutes and maintaining project documents
  • Networking with government departments and partner organizations

Person-specification

Essential

  • Graduate degree.
  • At least 2 to 5 yrs experience in project management/ office administration or HR management/managing finances (whichever is relevant)
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good English language skills
  • Good computing skills (MS office)
  • Very good communication/interpersonal skills, verbal and written

Desirable

  • Masters in commerce
  • Previous experience/training in project management
  • Previous experience of NGO administration

3. Research Coordinator, POWERTXT project, Sangath, Goa, India

About this post

Sangath is seeking to hire a Research Coordinator for its POWERTXT project.  The project will be implemented in Goa under the auspices of Sangath. The post-holder will work closely with the Fellow and have overall responsibility for the design and implementation of formative and pilot research for the design of the POWERTXT intervention. The post is based in Goa and is for a starting appointment for one year, extendable by a further four years, starting from 1st April, 2017 or as soon as possible after this date.

 Job Responsibilities

  • Design research protocols and tools necessary for the conduct of formative research to inform the design of treatment manuals and protocols.
  • Develop a supervision system and supervise the research team who will conduct the research
  • Coordinate the implementation of all research studies/sub-studies including, data collection and analysis using appropriate software
  • Monitor quality of data
  • Draft scientific reports for publication.

Person-specification

 Essential 

  • Appropriate (post-graduate) qualification in public health research methodology
  • Strong experience in conducting qualitative research and data analyses
  • Research publications
  • Fluency in written in English
  • Commitment to be based in Goa for 3 years

Desirable

  • Experience in quantitative research methodologies
  • Experience in mental health research
  • Fluency in Konkani /Hindi, and/or Marathi
