Sonali originally hails from Mumbai but has spent the last five years living and working in New York, where she was a Psychology & English student at Barnard College, Columbia University. Her interests focus on the delivery of culturally appropriate treatments in low and middle-income settings, particularly on the potential of family and community interventions. She most recently worked at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and at Columbia Psychiatry’s Cognitive Development and Neuroimaging Lab, where she worked in epidemiology and child psychology. Sonali is excited to have returned to India and to join Sangath for 6 months, to learn about the way in which clinical services can be developed and delivered to LAMIC populations across various platforms.
