Amruta Houde is a 2nd year MPH student at Columbia University in the Sociomedical Sciences Department doing a certificate in Global Health. Prior to her MPH, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgia Tech and Master of Arts in Psychology from Boston University. During a gap year after her Masters, she worked with local NGO partners across India and Sri Lanka focusing on adolescent girls and women’s health and holistic development. Most recently, she worked in Brazil on a research study examining the development of preschool children in urban Sao Paulo, especially those experiencing traumatic events.
